Dreamfair Zenfire took a perfect two-hole ride to the top of the nation’s standings in the featured pace on Saturday (Dec. 18) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The Marc Campbell trainee was given an impeccable steer by the ‘Blue Knight’ Jason Hughes in the $3,100 fillies and mares preferred pace stopping the clock in 1:56.3 over Ladylike (David Dowling) and Filly Forty Seven (Mark Bradley). It was win number 17 of the season for Dreamfair Zenfire as she now sits as the winningest horse in Canada for 2021 for owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris.

Trainer Campbell and driver Hughes also teamed up for a 10-length romp with Arc Light in 1:58.3.

Trainer Colin Johnson celebrated two wins on the afternoon with Laneside Lookout (Ron Matheson) in 2:04 and Bayside Alexis (Dowling) in 2:02.3.

Driver Corey MacPherson continued his hot streak with three winners including Magical Cowgirl (2:01) for trainer Pat Murphy, Tell Me Why (1:59.2) for Joe MacDonald and 14-year-old veteran Adventure Luck (2:00.1) who notched his 40th lifetime score for trainer Reece Williams.

Glider Man delivered on his pari-mutuel promise in the $2,500 Open Handicap Trot, winning in wire-to-wire fashion by stopping the clock in 2:00.2 for driver Adam Merner and trainer Jennifer Doyle, who co-owns the six-year-old Yankee Glide gelding with Danny Birt of Vernon Bridge.

Live harness racing continues Sunday afternoon at 12:30 P.M. at Red Shores Charlottetown. For race replays and more go to Redshores.ca. To view the results from Saturday's card, click the following link: Saturday Results - Charlottetown Driving Park.
