John C. Bourinot Passes

In loving memory of John C. Bourinot

Longtime harness racing industry participant John C. Bourinot passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 10, 2022 at the age of 91.

John was originally from Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. He and his family first became involved in Standardbred horses when they moved to Peterborough, Ont. in the 1970’s. His stable grew to include broodmares and racehorses with notable winners such as Wilcos Fantasy, Hotlips Wilco, Kawartha Virgo, Klassy Kathy, Sleeping Bag and Albavic Rainbow.

John C. Bourinot and family

John’s daughter Vicky has been married to trainer John Bax for 40 years with many of their own successes. He can rest knowing that his love of horse racing continues with his grandchildren Marshall, Matthew, Wyatt and Robyn. In his final years he enjoyed seeing pictures of his great grandchildren Ellie, Tucker and Abigail with the horses.

Arrangements will be posted when available.
