Stop by the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame display at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday, September 11 to purchase your copy of “Somebeachsomewhere: The Harness Racing Legend from a One-Horse Stable” by Canadian author Marjorie Simmins.

As a special bonus, Paul MacDonell, Beach’s driver and Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame 2020 Inductee, has generously autographed a limited number of books to be available for purchase on a first-come first-served basis on NA Cup night.

Described as a comprehensive, fully illustrated biography, award-winning author Marjorie Simmins' Somebeachsomewhere: The Harness Racing Legend from a One-Horse Stable, is a work of narrative-nonfiction that follows the life and career of the Ohio-born, Canadian-sired superstar pacer known as “Beach” who belonged to a syndicate of six owners from Canada’s East Coast. From a relatively humble lineage, Somebeachsomewhere turned out to be a horse of a lifetime. The winner of the North America Cup in 2008, would go on to smash records and set a single-season earning record as a three-year-old. The world champion, and member of multiple Halls of Fame, died unexpectedly in 2018, and is still considered by many to be the greatest pacer and Standardbred sire of all time.

Purchase price for the books is $24.95 plus tax, (cash sales only please) with proceeds benefiting the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame.
