Abacus, a lightly raced son of A Rocknroll Dance and Somewherovrarainbow, sold for $52,200 to Pennsylvania horseman Paul Corey on Friday (May 21).

Consigned by his breeder, Diamond Creek Farms, in partnership with Jennifer Brown, the lightly raced sophomore has been in the money in all of his six career starts and led Friday's online auctions at onGait.com.

Corey was also the high bidder on Captain Fireball, a green three-year-old son of Captaintreacherous and full brother to Breeders Crown winner Captain Crunch. Fresh off two qualifiers for the Chris Ryder barn, Captain Fireball changed hands for $30,500. Let It Ride Stables Inc and Bottom Line Racing LLC were the consignors.

Among the horses presently in the virtual sales ring are Maddys Leading Man (3, 1:58.1f-‘21), a son of Cantab Hall who just broke his maiden; the Indiana-based Outback Jack (3, 1:57.1s-’21); and the Captaintreacherous four-year-old Make It Come True (p, 3, 1:52.3s).

Established in August of 2001, onGait.com comes off a record-breaking year with over $15 million in sales of racehorses and breeding stock.
