Red Shores will be hosting a “Strangles 101 Info Session” on Thursday, November 19 with Dr. Kathleen MacMillan as the guest speaker.
This event will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Red Shores grandstand and Turf’s Bar & Grill. Due to COVID restrictions, guests will be required to register by calling the Red Shores race office at 902.629.6636. There will be a 50-person maximum in each location.
The presentation will also be broadcast live at redshores.ca for those who cannot attend.
At this time, there has been one (1) horse clinically affected with the strangles bacteria Streptococcus equi, which has been removed from the grounds of Red Shores.
All horsepeople are reminded to remain diligent and follow appropriate biosecurity measures, and to monitor their horse’s temperatures twice daily. If any issues arise please consult your veterinarian immediately until further direction.
