Oblivious Boy Wins Meridian Farms Open

Trainer/driver Richard Remillard sent Oblivious Boy down the road to win Friday's featured $1,500 Meridian Farms Open Pace at Yorkton Exhibition.

Leaving from the outside post in a field of five, race favourite Oblivious Boy ($2.80) carved out fractions of :30, 1:02 and 1:31.2 en route to a three length victory in 2:01. The win was his second in a row after taking last weekend's Pace For The Lillies and sixth this season in 12 starts.

Seahorse Run and Donald Tracey came on for second while the lone mare in the race, Ms Julia Rose, finished third for Brian Gray.

The winning seven-year-old As Promised gelding is owned by Valerie Emerson of Gladstone, MB and Bonnie Galenzoski of Lumsden, Sask.

Job well done at Cornerstone Raceways. Hope to see more horses, more race dates, higher purses and inclusion of West Meadows into next years plans. It's sad when only 35 horses were entered for the last card this year. That's good for those who had some decent horses and hit top 3 most of the season. Congrats to all the horsemen who participated and hope everyone winters well, and that includes the horses
