Quebec invader D J Power captured the $3,000 Kelti Burnett Memorial, sponsored by Corey Ford and McCain Foods, on Friday at Connell Park in Woodstock, N.B.

With the inside post advantage in the seven-horse field, D J Power and driver Pierre Luc Roy took the lead and kept first over challenger American Terror (Ed Harvey) at bay through fractions of :28.3, :59.3 and 1:29.2 en route to the 1:59.2 triumph. Iron Phil (Philippe Louis Roy), another Quebec campaigner, finished one and a half lengths behind the winner in second off a pocket trip. Rocknroll Band (Todd Trites) came on for third while American Terror's New Brunswick win streak came to an end as he finished fourth.

D J Power paid $15.90 to win. The four-year-old son of Major In Art has competed on the Quebec fairs racing circuit for most of the summer and has now won five of his last six starts for owner and trainer Jean Marc Roy of Mont-Joli, Que.

Stare Down and Dr. Mitchell Downey won the $1,400 Winners Over Pace by a nose over Pan Larceny and Video Storage in 2:01.
