Forbidden Trade Repeats In Mohawk Qualifier

Forbidden Trade took the track on Friday (Aug. 11) at Woodbine Mohawk Park for his second qualifying start in the last two weeks, repeating last week's performance with another win.

Louis-Philippe Roy was back in the bike for Forbidden Trade as they sat third through the quarter in :29.3 and half in 1:00. Forbidden Trade tipped second over behind pocket puller Century Jaguar (Trevor Henry) before the three-quarters in 1:30.2. Forbidden Trade yielded the front and stepped off to win by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:58.4. Stonebridge Bomber (James MacDonald) was second and Century Jaguar rounded out the top three.

Luc Blais trains the career winner of $2,364,825 for Determination of Montreal, Que. The seven-year-old Kadabra-Pure Ivory son boasts a record of 25-9-7 in 60 career starts.

Blais doubled up in training wins, winning the third qualifier with Emoji Hanover, sister to former Blais standout Emoticon Hanover (74: 27-16-13; 1:50.2f; $2,044,663).

Roy and Emoji Hanover sat third through the opening panel in :32.1 before pulling first over through the half in 1:02.2. Once in command, Emoji Hanover clicked the three-quarters in 1:33.2 en route to a two-length victory in 2:02.2. 

It was the first start for the daughter of Greenshoe-Emmylou Who, who is owned by Determination.
