After scoring in the Open Pace three weeks ago, Cheyenne Ryan Lee returned to the winner’s circle in the weekly battle of the best pacers on the grounds at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday, Aug. 10.

Defending Open winner Camwood was first off the gate from post five with Cory Stratton. After he finally cleared, Epaulette A was not content to sit the pocket. Bruce Aldrich Jr. pulled the right line to take the lead right back, approaching the quarter pole in :28.3.

Cheyenne Ryan Lee then vacated the three-hole and came first-over past the half in :58, followed by PH Kenny and Kyle Dibenedetto.

Epaulette A still led the pack to the three-quarters in 1:26.2.

Coming off the last turn first-over, the animated Luke Hanners urged Cheyenne Ryan Lee to the lead to score a one-length win over Epaulette A in 1:54.4. He paid $7.80 to win.

The five-year-old gelded son of Roll With Joe is trained by Alexandra Goldin and notched his fifth win of the year for owner Antoinette Bencivenne of Ivyland, Pennsylvania.
