Undefeated two-year-old pacing colt Legendary Hanover, a Huntsville brother to Canadian record holder Linedrive Hanover, won the $20,000 opening leg of the Dream Maker Series on Friday evening (July 28) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

After following in fourth through first half fractions of :27.4 and :56.4, driver James MacDonald sent Legendary Hanover to the lead and reached three-quarters in 1:24.4. The 2-5 favourite opened up 3-1/2 lengths into the stretch and cruised home to a new mark of 1:52.1, with Supplemental Fee closing two lengths behind and nabbing the runner-up role over mid-race leader Minette.

Bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, the Huntsville-Lillian Hanover colt was a $260,000 yearling purchase from the Lexington Select Sale and is trained by Anthony Beaton for owners West Wins Stable, Eric Good and Mark Dumain.

Legendary Hanover, who also won his July 7 debut in 1:54.2, paid $2.90 to win.
