MacMillan’s Trainees Triple Up

Trainer John MacMillan had a good night at the office on Thursday thanks to a three-win performance at Rideau Carleton Raceway

MacMillan, who currently ranks third in 2010 when it comes to winning races at Rideau, got things rolling with Know Thyself in Race 6. The son of Cammibest, who is owned by MacMillan, drew in from the also eligible list and won by more than seven lengths in 1:54. Ted McDonald mapped out the winning trip for the gelding.

That pacer’s stablemate, Senateur Mirabel, clicked for the tandem of McDonald and MacMillan in Race 8. The sophomore overcame a first-over journey to win by a pair of lengths in 1:58.4 for MacMillan and his partners, the Dobe Stables of Rideau Ferry, ON.

Whitemountain Sexy complete MacMillan’s training triple thanks to her 1:55.2 triumph in Race 13. The four-year-old Broadway Blue miss, who is owned by MacMillan, went wire-to-wire to win by nearly five lengths for driver Darrell Coville.

The three-win performance pushed MacMillan’s win total to 53 at Rideau Carleton Raceway, and it helped bump his career total jump to 1,024. His stable has banked more than $373,000 this year and more than $6.2 million to date.
