Eight three-year-old colts went behind the gate for the $30,000 Kevin Greenfield Final on Wednesday (June 8) at Eldorado Scioto Downs.

Despite rain downgrading track conditions, Pappardelle tripped the wire in 1:56 to establish a new lifetime mark. The gelded son of Wishing Stone went off as the betting favourite after taking the first two legs of the conditioned mini-series.

Dan Noble left with the gelding from post position four and set the pace for the entire mile. The victory came with ease after an opening quarter in :28.2 followed by a half in :58.4. Rose Run Xander, another Beaver trainee, finished in second while Beast Of Delaware completed the trifecta.

Pappardelle had a slow start to his two-year-old year in 2021 with nine starts and zero wins on the Ohio Sire Stakes level. As a sophomore, he has won three of five starts and bankrolled $28,000 in seasonal earnings. Christopher Beaver conditions for The Delaware Group, Equinex Racing Corp, and Joe Sbrocco.

Wednesday was also the night of driving doubles with Noble, Tyler Smith, Trevor Smith, Tony Hall, Brett Miller, and Jeremy Smith all capturing two wins each on the 14-race card.
