A superb card of Atlantic Canadian harness racing will be front and centre on Saturday (June 24) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The city track has 15 dashes starting at an amended 5 p.m. opening post time featuring the Home Hardware Maritime Breeders for three-year-old colt and filly pacers along with two divisions of the Cecil Ladner Memorial Invitational presented by Ladner Source For Sports.

Atlantic champion Malignity is favoured in the first $15,700 Maritime Breeders division, carded as the second race, over Fishermans Son (Adam Merner) and Elm Grove Restwind (David Dowling). Paul Langille trains and drives the favoured Malicious colt for owners Debbie Francis and Rosanne Langille from post five.

Woodmere Dealer is the favoured choice in the second $15,700 colt division (Race 6) for trainer-driver Jason Hughes and owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge. Top entries include Tobins Profit (Marc Campbell) and Junes Boy (Langille).

No Boats On Sunday will have the rail to take advantage of in the final colt division, heading to post in the ninth race. Myles Heffernan Sr. drives the Source Of Pride colt for trainer Myles Heffernan Jr. and owner Jackie Heffernan. JJ Landon (Gilles Barrieau) is a major threat from post two along with Starship Art (Patrick Shepherd) with post four.

In three-year-old pacing filly action, the first $16,100 Home Hardware Maritime Breeders division (Race 4) has Saulsbrook Abbey and Jason Hughes as the top choice from post seven for co-owner and trainer Saul Lanigan and co-owners Peter and Mark Lanigan. The undefeated daughter of Malicious will face off with Woodmere Amora (Langille) and Marina Del Rey (Campbell).

Rock N Roll Cays is the morning line favourite in her filly split (Race 7) with Dowling in the driver's seat for trainer Jeff Holmes and owner Hardcore Racing of Belfast. Her archrival Saulsbrook Mabel (Barrieau) has rail control after having her four-race undefeated career cut short by Rock N Roll Cays in her last start.

Elm Grove Redwine is the favourite in Race 12 in a $16,100 Home Hardware Maritime Breeders filly division. Dowling trains and drives the filly, who leaves from post two, for owners Alex Quinn, Carl Peterson and Brittany Dowling. Her main rivals are on either side of her with Itsuptoyou (Campbell) leaving from the rail and Lil Reeses Pieces (Merner) with post three.

The first $7,500 Cecil Ladner Memorial Invitational dash is carded as Race 11 with YS Mathis as the top entry from post five. He comes in fresh off setting a new stallion record at Red Shores Summerside winning in 1:52.1, two-fifths off the overall track record. Corey MacPherson picks up the drive for trainer Campbell and owners Brady Doyle and Jacinta Campbell. Time To Dance (Campbell) is a top choice from post one along with No Plan Intended (Hughes) from post three in the field of eight.

The other eight-horse Ladner Invitational race has Twin B Tuffenuff (Barrieau) as the morning line favourite from post five over Stash It Away (MacPherson) and Batterup Hanover (Langille). Ron Matheson trains the Race 14 favourite for owner Pat Morris of Charlottetown.
