Armycaptin Hanover toted a three-race winning streak into Monday’s co-featured $7,000 Open Pace for horses and geldings at Fraser Downs, and he rallied late to stretch the streak to four for trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt.

Armycaptin Hanover got away third in the five-horse affair while Mach Steady rolled to the top and carved out fractions of :27.1, :56.4 and 1:24.4.  Armycaptin Hanover commenced a first-over rally on the way to the three-quarter pole, and over the final quarter his :27.4 closing speed was enough to earn him the half-length triumph over race favourite Kootenay Santanna in 1:53.  Mach Steady faded late and settled for third.

The six-year-old son of Captaintreacherous-Allamerican Coed has manufactured a 5-4-5 record from 15 trips to the track this season for Hoerdt and partner Blair Corbeil.  The 26-time winner pushed his lifetime earnings over $170,000 with the victory.

Hoerdt sent out two other winners on the program and thus celebrated a hat trick performance on the 13-race card.  He also clicked with Souldust (1:54.3 – Race 2) and Outlaw Fire N Ice (1:55.3 – Race 3).

Later on the card it was Moosette rallying for a 1:56 triumph in the $7,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace for the tandem of driver Scott Knight and trainer Jim Marino.

The five-year-old daughter of Hes Watching-Legal Suspensory got away fifth while Memum Knowsnothing (:26.4) and Western Summit (:57.2 and 1:27) took turns on the lead.  Knight marched first over with Moosette on the way to the three-quarter pole, and after pacing a final quarter of her own in :29 she wound up drawing clear to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Mystic Shadow.  Bohemian Rhapsody took home the show dough.

Shale Stables of Merritt, BC bred and own the 16-time winner who improved her 2022 record to 6-7-1 from 16 trips to the track.  She’s stashed away more than $134,000 in her career.

As for driver Scott Knight, the score in the co-featured affair was one of five driving wins he celebrated over the course of the evening.  He also found his way to victory lane on the card with Redneck Jim (1:54.3 – Race 6), Marilyn (1:54.3 – Race 7), Jet Juice (1:54.1 – Race 8) and Kittie Cat (1:55 – Race 12).
