The McCarthy brothers, Todd and Andrew, dominated the racing action at Harrah’s Philadelphia on a Friday (May 13) card that got wet later in the day, with Todd, staying the whole program, parading back six winners while Andrew had three tallies before leaving midcard for the New Jersey Turnpike.

Todd guided the winner of the $14,400 featured pace, Camouflage Money, sitting the pocket behind Tuggin On My Heart and fractions of :27.1, :55.4, and 1:23.3, then pouncing in the stretch to win by 2-1/4 lengths and lower his lifetime best to 1:51.3. A sophomore gelding by Betting Line out of the $1 million+ winner Shelliscape, Camouflage Money found these foes easier to deal with than the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes competitors he faced in his 2022 debut, winning impressively for trainer Linda Toscano and owners South Mountain Stables, Camelot Stable Inc., and JAF Racing LLC.

Tim Tetrick, who was obligated to a pre-card purse event up north and did not race at Harrah’s on Friday, remains atop the standings with 50 victories through 19 cards. With their respective tallies today, Andrew has a 35-34 lead over Todd in the battle for second place. Three of Todd’s winners came for Linda Toscano, who went into a tie for third in the trainers column with seven, equal with Jeff Cullipher and two behind leaders Scott Di Domenico and Gilbert Garcia-Owen.

The veteran Southwind Ozzi looks for his fourth straight victory in a $22,500 pace handicapped by groups this Sunday at Harrah’s Philly. Tim Tetrick will be in his usual spot behind the $1 million winner, victorious in the 2019 Little Brown Jug, as the pair starts from post seven in an eight-horse field. Plenty of other high-powered horses are competing throughout the Sunday card, which begins at 12:40 p.m. Program pages are available at the PHHA website.
