American Risk was a repeat winner in the top $2,500 Winners Over pacing class featured on Friday (May 13) at Truro Raceway, capping off a training triple for George Rennison.

Driven by four-time Friday night winner Redmond Doucet, American Risk fired off the gate out to an early five-length lead through a quarter in :27.3. The trailing trio in the field that was scratched down to four closed the gap but posed no serious challenge to the 1-9 favourite as he cruised to the half in :58.1 and three-quarters in 1:27.3.  Rusty Riley (Paul Langille) tried to catch American Risk in the passing lane again but was no match for the 1:56.2 winner, who matched his mile time from a week ago as he finished 1-3/4 lengths in front. Johnnywalkerdelux (Emmons MacKay) edged out Dont Ask Logan (Ryder Rennison) in a photo for show.

After winning 10 of his 26 starts last year, American Risk is now two-for-two to kick start his 2022 campaign. The six-year-old gelded son of American Ideal is owned by the local Risky Bizz Group.

In addition to American Risk ($2.30), Truro's 2021 leading trainer Rennison sent out the maiden-breaking sophomore gelding Mitch ($4.10) and repeat winner Special FX ($3.30) early on Friday's seven-race card. Doucet drove the pair and then made it three wins in a row driving 14-year-old pacer Prince Adam ($10.30) for trainer Andrew Campbell.
