Callmemza Upsets In DSBF Final

The trip was sweet, but the end result was even sweeter for Callmemza in Monday’s $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund final for three-year-old trotting fillies at Dover Downs.

The Bib Roberts trainee turned a two-hole trip into an 8-1 upset victory in the rich tilt, and in doing so she bumped her bankroll in excess of $160,000.

In rein to Jonathan Roberts, Callmemza was treated to a pocket trip behind Penny Paratrooper. That foe sliced out splits of :28.1, :59.3 and 1:29 before giving way. Callmemza found clearance in the lane and used a :29-second final frame to win by a neck over My Fire Cloud Too. Silence Is Bliss took home the show dough. Race favourite I Got Spunk made a break behind the gate en route to a disappointing eighth-place finish.

Callmemza, a homebred daughter of Great George Two-Endorhpan Annie, is owned by Bib Roberts, Graham Grace Stables LLC and M And W Stables LLC. The filly has manufactured a 2-1-0 record from three trips postward this season after going 4-2-1 from eight tries during last year’s rookie campaign.
