Tymal Houdini Torches Preferred Foes In London

Tymal Houdini did a disappearing act on the six foes he faced in Friday’s $10,500 Preferred 3 for trotters at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and in doing so he came perilously close to matching the track record for older trotting horses.

With Colin Kelly at the controls, Tymal Houdini marched to the lead from Post 2 and marched the field through fractions of :28.3, :58.2 and 1:26.3 before using a :30.1 closing frame to win by 3-1/4 lengths over Lass Shot. Jayport Hi Class rounded out the top three finishers.

The 1:56.4 performance for the six-year-old son of Kadabra-Lexus Hall left him just one-fifth of a second short of matching the 1:56.3 track standard set nearly a decade ago by Zorgwijk Jock (May 1, 2013).

Steve Bossence trains the 16-time winner for E C S Racing LLC of Rockford, MI. Sent off as the 1-5 favourite, the career winner in excess of $140,000 improved this year’s record to 5-1-1 from 12 attempts with the win.
