A recent article on mystateline.com indicates that the Illinois senate is looking at allowing internet and telephone wagering on horse racing.
According to the article, senator Ricky Hendon has stated that if online gambling is already going on, the state should be able to get tax revenue from it.
Anita Bedell, who is with the Illinois Church Action on Alcohol and Addiction Problems, has a different outlook, believing that people will lose more money via online gambling because they are not required to leave the home to wager.
