Outlaw C My Shadow earned his fifth consecutive victory with another dominating performance in the $10,000 Open Pace at Fraser Downs on Friday night (Feb. 18).
Leaving from post five in rein to four-time Friday night winner Brandon Campbell, Outlaw C My Shadow quickly took the lead into a :27.1 opening quarter over the 'good' going before getting a breather to the half in :57.3. He began to open up on the way past three-quarters in 1:25 and turned for home with a commanding lead, ultimately trouncing his seven rivals by 6-1/4 lengths in 1:52.2. Lets Tie One On (Scott Knight) and Armycaptin Hanover (Kelly Hoerdt) completed the top three finish order.
Outlaw C My Shadow's win streak started back in November at Fraser Downs and includes three wins this month at the current meet. Sent postward as the overwhelming 1-5 favourite, he paid $2.50 to win.
Connie Kolthammer trains and co-owns the six-year-old son of Shadow Play as part of the Outlaw West Stable. The homebred gelding now sports a career record reading 15-12-15 from 85 starts with earnings topping the $150,000 mark.
