No sub-freezing temperatures kept Outlaw Gunsablazin from steaming on the point as the six-year-old Blue Burner gelding battled gamely to a 1:56.3 victory in the $10,500 Preferred 2 Pace on Saturday night (Dec. 17) at Century Mile.

Driver Mike Hennessy sent Outlaw Gunsablazin for the top and cleared Itll Be Fine to a :28.1 first quarter with the field staying single file through a :58.2 half. Joe Dimagio attempted to flush cover through the final turn and prompted Itll Be Fine to pop pocket rolling for three-quarters in 1:28.2. Outlaw Gunsablazin spun for home and clung for the lead as Itll Be Fine dug in to the outside and Retros Mystery tried to slip through a developing seam towards the pylons. But Outlaw Gunsablazin hit another stride in the final eighth and pulled to a 1-1/2-length win over Itll Be Fine with Retros Mystery third and Joe Dimagio fourth.

Co-owned by trainer Rod Starkewski with Clauzette Byckal, Outlaw Gunsablazin won his 18th race from 90 starts and has now earned $215,908. He paid $7.60 to win.
