Don't expect the Nick Gallucci stable to be less of a factor in Ontario now that some of his stable stars such as Prohibition Legal and Silver Label have been put away for the season.
Case in point, Gallucci brought sophomore pacer Merito Hanover to Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday (Nov. 12) for his first qualifier of 2021 after a single freshman start more than a year ago. James MacDonald asked the son of Bettors Delight - Maremma Hanover to cut the mile, and he paced through panels of :29.2, 1:00.2 and 1:31.3 before saving his best for last and sprinting home in :27 to trip the timer in 1:58.3.
A $95,000 Harrisburg yearling from 2019, Merito Hanover is owned by Millar Farms of Stouffville, Ont.
