Thursday's (Nov. 10) 10-race card at Woodbine Mohawk Park featured a trio of Pop-Up Series events with two $15,000 events on the trot and one for pacing mares.

Mending Fences powered to a 1:53.3 win in the Pop-Up Series for young maiden pacing fillies. Driver Doug McNair landed the freshman daughter of Artspeak in fourth while Sunburnt cleared control to a :27.1 first quarter. Academy Seelster then circled to the lead to post a :56.3 half and a 1:25.1 three-quarters before bracing for the first-over push of Mending Fences into the lane. The 6-5 favourite pressed forward in the stretch to claim a half-length lead to the beam and down Academy Seelster while Sunburnt gave chase in third and Cocktail Carol closed for fourth.

Meg Crone trains and co-owns Mending Fences with Anthony Haughan. She broke her maiden in her ninth start while pushing her bankroll to $17,040 and paying $4.40 to win.

In the Pop-Up Series Trot for young maidens, Make It Easy scored his first win and did so through disqualification. The three-year-old filly by Muscle Mass sat fifth to a :28.2 first quarter but then angled off the pegs to track the brush of Brash Lady into a :58.2 half. Once Brash Lady took the lead, Make It Easy persisted uncovered to three-quarters in 1:27 but endured interference from the pacesetter coming for home. Make It Easy missed victory by a nose in a 1:56.2 mile, but the infraction prompted the stewards to disqualify Brash Lady from first to second. B S Goldpolicy finished third, another eight lengths behind, with Tijuana Seelster fourth.

Ryan Morefield owns Make It Easy, who won her second race from 11 starts and pushed her bankroll to $26,070. She paid $5.50 to win.

Lilys Lass lunged off cover in the other trotting division to win in 1:56.4. Driver Tyler Jones sat fourth with Lilys Lass to a :29.1 first quarter while Commemorative coasted on a loose lead to a :59.1 half and three-quarters in 1:28.3. Jones caught cover from a stalled Tymal Twyla to the half and launched three wide in the stretch and extended to a 4-3/4-length victory over Zip Me Up with Commemorative settling for third and Deity Seelster taking fourth.

Patrick Hunt trains and co-owns Lilys Lass with Goldfinger Stables. She won her second race from 17 starts, has now earned $63,799 and paid $6.10 to win.
