Burn Out Hanover is known for loving the front end but he was just as content circling up for victory in the Monday evening top class at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

The seven-year-old son of Well Said sat last in the $3,300 Preferred 2 pace while Dylan Sam (Driven by Ken Murphy) set the tempo through splits of :27.4, :57.3 and 1:26.1. The last quarter would be soft and Burn Out Hanover took advantage with driver Brady Sweet angling him to gobble up ground for a half-length victory in 1:57. Race favourite Screen Test (Corey MacPherson) was second ahead of Nogreatmischief (Walter Cheverie).

The winning pacer is owned by the Orwell Bay Stable and trained by Jeff Holmes, who went undefeated on the evening in three separate races. The trainer also won the evening finale with JK Pilot in 1:56.2 and an elimination of the P.E.I. Harness Racing Industry Association Fall Challenge Series with Fern Hill Dynamic in 1:58.2, with MacPherson in the bike for both those wins.

MacPherson swept all three series eliminations winning with Spack Jarrow (1:59.3) for trainer Raymond White and Jetster (1:57.1) for Stanley Harper for the driving grand slam.

The four-win night brings MacPherson to 37 victories at Red Shores Summerside in 2022 and puts him within striking distance for the driving title. David Dowling remained winless on the night and leads the way at 40 wins, ahead of Murphy who won Race 1 to give him 39 winners while MacPherson sits third heading into the final race card of the year on Sunday October 30th.

Live racing continues Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at Red Shores Charlottetown.
