Page To Receive Haughton Award

Driver Chris Page has been selected as the recipient of the Peter Haughton Memorial Award by the Ohio Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association

The Haughton Award goes to a young Ohioan who is an “up and coming” star among harness horsemen.

Page, 26, enjoyed his best season in harness racing by far in 2009. He recorded 351 seasonal wins in 1,737 starts for a .326 UDRS. His drives earned more than $1.4 million this season. He was also featured in the January 2010 issue of Trot Magazine.

The Mt. Vernon, Ohio native won the 2009 drivers' title at Scioto Downs, but is not shy about traveling for drives. Last season he visited 32 different tracks and fairs from Minnesota to Virginia.

His biggest seasonal victory came in the $47,800 Virginia Breeders Final at Colonial Downs.
