Duly Resolved Delivers In Debut

Duly Resolved winning at Woodbine Mohawk Park

Making his first appearance for his "new" trainer, 2021 O'Brien Award winner Duly Resolved was victorious during the Saturday (March 11) qualifying session at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

With the familiar hands of Matt Bax at the controls for his first test as an older horse, Duly Resolved sat in third for the opening splits of the mile as All The Truth (Louis-Philippe Roy) rambled through fractions of :28.3, :58 and 1:27.4. Bax angled Duly Resolved off the pylons heading into that third panel and then allowed the trotter to comfortably stride away from his four rivals down the lane. A :28.1 closer to the mile provided a 1:56.1 time to complete the chart, with his margin of victory more than three lengths.

A son of Resolve - Motown Muscle, Duly Resolved sports a summary of 7-7-1 from 26 lifetime starts with earnings of $830,617 for owners Bax Stable of Campbellville, Ont., David Hudson of Dallas, Tex., Don Allensen of Wyoming, Ont., and Gaelic Stable of Sharon, Ont. The colt was trained by John Bax for his first two campaigns, with Matt taking over training duties in light of his father's retirement from training.

In that conversation last year, John told Trot Insider that Duly Resolved is being pointed towards the newly-unveiled Ontario Graduate Series for four-year-old trotters that kicks off at Mohawk next month.
