The official media launch for this year's $100,000 Gold Cup & Saucer presented by Atlantic Lottery took place this morning (Tuesday, Aug. 9) at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park.

With the richest purse in the history of the event, the 63rd edition of Charlottetown's signature race will mark the pinnacle of Old Home Week on Saturday, Aug. 20.

A press conference to launch the festivities took place in the P.E.I. track's grandstand featuring the draws for the Gold Cup & Saucer trials. The 2022 Gold Cup & Saucer attracted 22 pacers, who will face off in three eliminations with two of the trials on Saturday, Aug. 13 and one on Monday, Aug. 15. The top three finishers from each trial will advance to the final.
