Horse Racing New Brunswick hosts its penultimate card for the 2016 racing meet this Saturday at Exhibition Park Raceway.
There's a close battle for top dash winner at the Saint John track. Dr. Mitchell Downey leads the pack with eight trips to winner's circle this season. Right in the hunt is a former top driver in Saint John and Fredericton, Todd Trites.
On Saturday's program, Downey will suit up just twice and could face fierce challenges for the title by both Trites and Scott Hubbard. Trites has four drives on the card and trails Downey by just one win. With six wins, Hubbard could very well post a challenge as he too has four drives on the card.
EPR has one more race date after Saturday, with the meet-closing card set for Monday, October 10.
