This Saturday (August 8), Horse Racing New Brunswick will host the Maritimes' largest purse event for three-year-olds as the $40,000 Barrieau McIsaac Stake has drawn a full field of nine starters.

Named in honour of Rufin Barrieau & Francis McIsaac, the race will go as race six on the seven-dash program at Exhibition Park Raceway. First post time is 1:00 p.m.

Tobins Rebel has been listed as the morning line favourite. He will be driven by Moncton native Gilles Barrieau -- the nephew of Rufin Barrieau -- for owner Dan Ross of Price Edward Island.

Local hopefuls include Little Manny (PP7, Stephen Trites, 8-1), J J Austin (PP4, John Davidson, 12-1) and Bouttagetlucky (PP6, Robert Laffin, 15-1).

The $40,000 purse is the largest purse of the season for stakes horses, and second only in prize money to PEI's prestigious Gold Cup & Saucer to be contested at Charlottetown Driving Park later this month.
