Jean-Paul LeBlanc Passes

Horseman Jean-Paul LeBlanc, 72, of Bouctouche, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital on Thursday, August 21.

He was married to Andrea (Allain) LeBlanc. Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Acquila and the late Yvonne (Cormier) LeBlanc.

Jean-Paul worked for the Department of Transportation as highway supervisor for 26 years. He was very much involved in the community, volunteering his time to Meals on Wheels and the Pays de la Sagouine. He was a horse racing enthusiast and a great fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He especially enjoyed his long walks with his precious four legged companion, Maggie.

He was an avid horse fan for over 50 years and was a co-owner of What A Hi Hope. Jean-Paul went to Old Home Week in PEI every year.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Andrea, his children; Christine Caissie (Gilles) of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, Nicole Roy (Gary) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Bernadette Byrns (Allen) of Dieppe and Marc (Lisette) of Moncton, his cherished grandchildren; Michelle-Renée, Savannah, Alexi, Ashley, Jérémie, Janie and Catherine. He also leaves to mourn four sisters; Rose-Marie Robichaud (late Jimmy), Denise LeBlanc, Raymonde Allain (Gilles) and Fernande Chatham (late Steve), all of Bouctouche and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Charline; a brother, Louis-Hervé; and a sister-in-law, Anna.

Visitations and funeral service has already taken place. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

In Jean-Paul’s memory, a donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
