After having been crowned champion in 2019, Woodmere Skyroller will look for her first win of her three-year-old campaign in Atlantic Sires Stakes action Friday evening (July 10) at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway as Governor’s Plate Week racing continues.

The 11-dash Friday card has a 6:30 p.m. start time and will feature Atlantic Sires Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies. The card will feature a trio of $9,360 'A' divisions for the sophomore fillies (Race 2, 5 and 9) and a pair of $2,500 'B' divisions (Race 4 and 6).

The first 'A' division (Race 2) will see Woodmere Skyroller line up in Post 3 in a compact field of five. Driver Brodie MacPhee is scheduled to be in the race bike for trainer Kevin MacLean and owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford. The Rollwithitharry filly was top of her class as a rookie, as she won the $20,000 Atlantic Breeders Crown final last season. Woodmere Skyroller has recorded a pair of second-place finishes thus far in 2020. Also in the field are Live And Let Di (to be driven by Marc Campbell) and Gotta Love Cabot (Clare MacDonald).

The second 'A' division (Race 5) will see last year’s Maritime Breeder’s winner, Na Naa Said So, line up in Post 2 for the Cape Breton connections of driver Redmond Doucet, trainer Robert MacLeod, and owners Hugh MacEachern of Inverness and Ali MacEachern of Truro, NS. The talented daughter of Westwardo Hanover easily toured the oval at Inverness Raceway in her lone seasonal start in 1:56.4. Her main rival on Friday will be Red Dirt Star (Gilles Barrieau), who is three for three thus far in 2020 and will start from Post 1.

Tobins Choice has received top billing in the final 'A' division, and Barrieau is scheduled to be in the race bike for trainer Gary Chappell and owners Boyd MacDonald Produce of Crapaud and Daniel Ross of Belfast. The Camystic filly has already seen the winner’s circle twice this season and has drawn Post 5 for Friday’s contest. Other top contenders are Woodmere Nasha (Kenny Arsenault) and Streakazana (Marc Campbell).

The $2,700 Andrew Perry Memorial trot has been carded as Race 8 and will feature the top five trotters on Canada's east coast. Freddie, who is undefeated thus far this season, has been relegated to the outside Post 5 for trainer-driver Campbell and owners Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston. His top rivals will be Glider Man (Arsenault) and Star Photo (Hughes).
