Murray Janoff Passes

Officials with the United States Harness Writers Association have announced that Hall of Famer Murray Janoff, one of USHWA’s founding members, passed away during the afternoon on Monday, July 6 at the age of 100.

Janoff, who was a decorated World War II veteran, was a good guy that would give you the shirt off his back

In addition to covering racing, Janoff reported on Major League Baseball for most of his career.

He earned five battle stars over the course of his service. One of Janoff’s stars came after having fought in the Battle of Bulge.

Janoff’s funeral will take place on Wednesday, July 8 at the Gutterman-Warheit Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, which is located at 7240 N Federal Hwy in Boca Raton, FL (33487).
