Woodbine Entertainment has announced that a mandatory payout for the Standardbred Jackpot Hi-5 will be in effect for Saturday, December 22 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The Jackpot Hi-5 carryover currently sits at $269,858.26. Woodbine Mohawk Park currently has six cards remaining ahead of the December 22 mandatory payout date. There will be no freezing of the pool ahead of the mandatory payout.
This will be the third consecutive year that Woodbine has offered a Jackpot Hi-5 mandatory payout on the final Standardbred card before Christmas.
A mandatory payout on the Jackpot Hi-5 in December of 2016 saw more than $2 million of new money wagered into the pool. Horseplayers that connected on last December’s mandatory payout took home $49,437.10 for a 20-cent winning ticket.
The Jackpot Hi-5 requires horseplayers to select the top five finishers in order and features a 20-cent minimum wager with a 15 per cent takeout. The wager is offered nightly on the final race of each card.
Live racing continues Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Post time for the cards is at 7:10 p.m.
