Atlantic Aged Mares Series Final Set

All of the preliminary legs are now in the books, and the $16,517 final of the Atlantic Aged Mares Pacing Series is all set for this Sunday (October 4) at Red Shores’ Summerside Raceway.

The series final has been carded as the final contest (Race 13) on Summerside’s stakes-jammed program. The card will kick off with a 1 p.m. first-race post time.

General Luckypercy will start the nine-mare affair from Post 5. The nine-year-old daughter of Blissfull Hall got received the 5-2 morning line nod and will be steered by Gilles Barrieau. The pupil of trainer Jackie Matheson heads into the final off of a victory in the September 26 Fillies and Mares Open at the Charlottetown Driving Park which she won by a length in 1:57.1.

Allan Jones trainee Ramblinglily, who has won 11 of her 14 starts this season, will start from Post 9. Walter Cheverie is scheduled to be in the race bike and the duo has been assessed as the 3-1 second choice on the morning line.

The Atlantic Aged Mares Pacing Series is co-sponsored by Standardbred Canada, Red Shores, the PEIHRIA and the other participating host tracks. The stakes series is for aged pacing mares (foals of 2011 and older) that are Canadian sired and/or 100 per cent Canadian owned.
