Hambletonian Stakes elimination winners Ramona Hill and Ready For Moni made gains in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown Poll.
The $1 million Hambletonian final for three-year-old trotters will be contested this Saturday (August 8) at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
Ramona Hill, one of two fillies taking on the boys in the Hambletonian, received two first-place votes and moved from ninth to fourth in the rankings. Ready For Moni added 52 points to his total from last week and joined the top 10 at No. 10.

Gimpanzee remained No. 1 and received 28 first-place votes. Manchego received the remaining five first-place votes and swapped places with Tall Dark Stranger, going from third to second. Atlanta completed the top five. Gimpanzee, Manchego, and Atlanta were idle last week. Tall Dark Stranger was fourth from Post 10, beaten one and a half lengths by Captain Kirk, in the Tompkins-Geers at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
