Standardbred Canada has announced, effective immediately, that Brandon Campbell will be stepping down from participation in the Western Regional Driving Championship (WRDC) due to injury.

Kelly Hoerdt will replace him as the subsequent driver.

Therefore, the following field of eight drivers for the WRDC is confirmed for Saturday, May 11 at Century Downs Racetrack & Casino in Rocky View, Alta. 

Drivers will receive points based on their finishing position. The first and second-place finishers from the eight-race competition will advance to the 2024 National Driving Championship, which is set to take place on Friday, July 5 at Hippodrome 3R in Trois-Rivières, Que. They will be joined by the two finalists from each of the other regional championships (Ontario, Quebec/Eastern Ontario, and Atlantic).

The first race post time for the WRDC card of harness racing is 12:45 p.m. (MDT) / 2:45 p.m. (EDT), with the first WRDC race taking place in Race 4. The WRDC races will take place in Races 4 through 11.
