There was no stopping Sf Razamatazz on Sunday afternoon (May 29) as he went wire-to-wire to earn the first win of his 10-year-old campaign in the $1,475 Winners Over Pace at Truro Raceway.
With the inside post advantage in his second start of the season, the Cam Terrific gelding took the lead off the gate and cruised through fractions of :29.4, 1:01.2, 1:31.3 en route to the two length triumph in 2:00.1 for trainer, driver and co-owner Mark Whidden. The popular pacing mare Barona Lilac came from the back of the five-horse field to finish second while Gerries Beach finished third off a pocket trip.
Mark Whidden shares ownership of Sf Razamatazz with Barry Whidden and Ellsworth Atkinson of Truro, N.S., and Bruce McGrath of Calgary, Alta.
Sf Razamatazz is now a 57-time career winner.
