Due to recent cases of Equine Herpes (EHV-1) and extreme biosecurity measures, racing at The Meadows has been suspended until February 23, 2018.

According to a statement released today by The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association, due to an order from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, horses in quarantined barns will not be allowed on the track until further notice.

According to separate statement from earlier in the day, non-quarantined horses would once again have access to both tracks starting on Saturday, February 3.

"Extreme biosecurity measures must be continued, especially people going from barn to barn."

On Monday, January 29, it was announced that three horses had tested positive for EVH at The Meadows. At that time, racing was cancelled until February 6. Earlier in January, an initial horse had tested positive.

The cancellations came after the Bureau of Animal Health put barns 5, 19, and 23 under quarantine, along with the previously quarantined barns 6 and 21.
