Feel The Heat cruised to victory in the $15,000 final of the Halloween Series on Thursday (November 6) at Northfield Park.
Feel The Heat is trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. for Hilliard, Ohio owner Perkins Racing Stable, LLC. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. was in the sulky.
Feel The Heat (Feelin Friskie-Youngs Tower) started from Post 5. He had to work in the first quarter to make the lead, but never experienced an anxious moment once he struck the front.
Feel The Heat led his competition over a ‘sloppy’ surface through fractions of :26.4, :57.2 and 1:26.4 and hit the wire in 1:55. He bested his competition by six lengths.
Completing the race were Billy The Colt, Hanky L, Oil Slicker, Ubetterubetterubet, Jollyroger Hanover, Clayton Morris, Luckey Rei and Igottaguyforthat.
Thursday’s win was the sixth victory this year from 19 starts for Feel The Heat. It bolstered his career win tally to nine and his lifetime earnings to $140,582. He was heavily favoured and returned $3.60 to win.
