Horse Racing Alberta has released the live racing schedule for 2021, including 109 days of Standardbred racing across the province allocated to three tracks: Century Mile in Edmonton, Century Downs in Calgary and The Track On 2 in Lacombe.
Standardbred racing at Century Mile will take place every Saturday and Sunday from Jan. 2 to Feb. 21. After Thoroughbred racing takes over at Century Mile from May 2 to Nov. 7, Standardbreds will return to Edmonton from Nov. 20 through Dec. 31 to complete a 27-program slate.
The bulk of the harness racing calendar in Alberta will take place at Century Downs, with their 64-day meeting beginning March 27 and continuing until Nov. 6. Century Downs will not host Thoroughbred racing in 2021.
The Track On 2 will conduct 18 Sunday Standardbred racing cards from May 30 until Sept. 26.
