Goldrush Seelster Tops First London Session

Thirty-five yearlings sold during the first session of the 2020 London Virtual Yearling Sale, hosted by OnGait.com on Monday afternoon (Oct. 19).

Goldrush Seelster, a son of Bettors Delight and the first foal from the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner Glamour Seelster, attracted a winning bid of of $201,000 CAD ($154,000 USD) from Gregg McNair.

Amanda Fine was the high bidder on Shanghai Seelster for $152,000 CAD ($116,000 USD). The daughter of Bettors Delight is the first foal from stakes winner Soiree Seelster.

Trotting-breds were led by Archery Seelster, a Wheeling N Dealin colt that sold to Marcel Barrieau for $85,150 CAD ($65,000 USD).

Century Invictus sold Monday from the Century Spring Farms consignment for $67,500 CAD ($51,500 USD). Another son of Bettors Delight, he is the first foal of his Ohio Sires Stakes winning McArdle dam. Anthony MacDonald will train the colt.

Session One grossed $1,354,540 CAD for an average of $38,701. Trotting fillies led all categories with 17 head averaging $45,588 CAD.

Bidding continues for the remaining yearlings in the catalogue.

Session Two auctions end Tuesday and Session Three auctions end Wednesday.
