Celebration Of Life For Diane Twasnick

The family and friends of Diane Twasnick have announced details for a Celebration Of Life on Sunday, October 29.

The event will be held at the Lighthouse Restaurant at Grand River Raceway in Elora, Ont. from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friends are invited to drop in at any time. Some of Diane’s family will share their memories starting at 2:00 p.m.

Diane passed away on September 20 at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Ont. after a brief battle with cancer. She was 59.

Her career as a race secretary and charter spanned more than three decades at Elmira Raceway, Grand River Raceway, and Hanover Raceway.

Diane had a deep affinity for harness racing, and its horses and people. Beyond her astute skills and knowledge, she had a glowing smile, bright personality and fabulous sense of humour.

Diane is lovingly remembered by her aunts and cousins in the Oshawa and Ayr areas. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Veronica Twasnick. In addition to her career in harness racing, Diane was will be missed by all of her friends and co-workers at the LCBO and Food Basics in Elmira.

In Diane's memory, donations to the Regional Cancer Centre or Kiwanis Transit would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be obtained by calling the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, at 519-669-2207.
